You have to do
05.11.06 (10:28 pm)   [edit]
That's right. You read it. You have to do. Nothing happens if you don't do. Everything I've ever done right in my life is because I dove into a situation. Putting things off is just as bad as never doing them in the first place. Tonight I am completing my Senior Project which is due tomorrow. The lesson I gave above is the one thing I learned from this entire experience. Now here come my random sidenotes. Emo blogs suck. Mixed experiences are okay, and it's okay to be depressed sometimes, but to be like "life sucks" every post (as one user whose blog was featured on tblog was) is just lame. You're not talking about anything. Right now, my life is not where I want it to be, but I'm not going to make vague emo statments - I'm giving advice. That's what blogs are about. Ranting, humor, and maybe (if it's a good blog) you'll walk away giving an intrigued "huh... interesting." That's what I hope to provide. That's all. Today's message: Take action; it's the only way to move forward. Today's subliminal messages: 1) Birdwatch. It is the greatest thing of life. 2) Do yourself a favor and get hooked on a GOOD TV series like Lost that keeps you thinking about it far past it's one hour a week.

Elvis' got Peace, Love, & Understanding
I miss the days when I could sing like Geddy
Neil's got Peace, but it's Peace of mind
How he does it, I don't know
His grief my problems
And my problems < peaceful      P.S. In case you didn't notice, this is my first post in about a year. Yeah. I know, why, right? Good question.>

Moving
06.17.05 (12:34 pm)   [edit]
I'm moving my blog. It's now part of my MySpace. I like it better because I can show what I'm listening to / reading / watching, and it shows the cover of the album / book / movie. So yeah.

A Month
05.02.05 (8:03 pm)   [edit]
Well it's been about a month since I've updated. Damn, I really need to stick with these things. I was punished and shit, no internet... but I found ways around that. What else... first AP today - English Language. Not too bad. Got the new Ben Folds album 'Songs For Silverman.' It's godly, as expected. I'll post more often, promise ^^;

Battle Of The Bands, etc.
04.05.05 (8:05 pm)   [edit]
Hey. Not much has happened since Thursday, but James lives off this shit, so here goes...

Okay, I shared my sentiment with Liam that on Naked Baby Photos, a Ben Folds Five Album from '98, Phil sounds EXACTLY like Ben in "For Those Of Y'all Who Where Fanny Packs" at the end when he says "That's our next single." Even Phil agreed that it sounds like him. After that, Liam had to show me the straight / gay song that sounds JUST like 'Truda -- trying to get it from him now over IM. 2 Other really good songs - Ben Folds does Dr. Dre's "Bitches Ain't Shit" - DAMN do I need to find an mp3 version of this:

http://www.sonymusic.com/clips/selection/fu/07 1897/071897_01_01_full_10 0.asx" title="http://www.sonymusic.com/clips/selection/fu/07 1897/071897_01_01_full_10 0.asx" target="_blank"http://www.sonymusic.com/clip...

Then there's Ben Lee's (heard of him through Ben Folds' "The Bens") song "Begin":

Anyway, lots of music in my life now - Honors Choir Mozart Requiem Concert coming up on Sunday, Battle of the Bands coming up - doing Come On Eileen - Save Ferris' cover, not Dexy's Midnight Runners' original, and 99 Red Balloons - Goldfinger. ALSO, the RVP Studios show at UNH - playing Led Zeppelin's Livin' Lovin' Maid, The Cars' Just What I Needed, and maybe a few others. Lotsa stuff to do - work work work...

P.S.: If you want the files of any of the songs I named, just IM me.

Vacation Return
03.31.05 (1:19 am)   [edit]
Ok so a lot has happened. Again, I didn't update for a while. Sorry. So here's what happened:

-New England Swimming Championships: 100 Yard Backstroke: 1:08.93, very happy.
-Pharyngitis strikes. I know it sounds made up, but it's just laryngitis in the pharynx. :P
-Vacation begins. Suite.
-Week in Ireland. Yeah, enough said. Kick ass.
-Week in Mexico = Tan

Now I'm back. So yea. Okay.

Larangital FAILURE
02.17.05 (8:34 pm)   [edit]
Wow, do I hate recovering from larangitis. See, I have to sing "Just What I Needed" by the Cars tomorrow, and I have NO VOICE. Got sick over the weekend and I'm just recovering now. I hope to G-d things work out. That's not to mention that the drumset at school is shit, I missed a Ben Folds concert tonight, and that my Sprite is flat. Yea. Pretty rough night. I have to work and study for tests. Later.

Wow. Haven't Posted. In a LONG TIME.
02.15.05 (11:59 pm)   [edit]
I'll skip over the "OMG I'm so sorry I haven't posted for a long time," because you know that and I know that.

Things that have happened:
Started a webcomic: G'DAMN (Geoff Dan Alex Max Nate).
Went to Disney World this past weekend.
Got sick at the end of my vacation.
Am now sick, missing school.
Hope to not be screwed, being there a show that I have to sing at on Friday.
Using bad grammar. Really bad. Using it quitely not goodly.
Promising to update more.
Peacing out.

Kitty! & Death
01.04.05 (7:29 pm)   [edit]
Well, we did it, we got a pet. A kitty. She's so cute dispite the fact that I'm allergic to her. Her names Spicy, 2 lbs. of fluffy cuteness. My allergies really haven't been acting up, so hopefully I can pull through. Pics in the Photos (Link in Prof - on the sidebar). Besides that, nothing happened over break. New Year's. Wow. Anyway, I'm just gonna die now this week. Of course... 2 snow days would help... G-d? It's up to you, Big Buddy! Here's my list of shit to do:

For Wednesday: 7-10 Page Paper Outline, Latin Test
For Thursday: Latin Test (Yes, two), History Test
For Friday: 7-10 Page Paper Rough Draft (Yes, the same one)
For Monday: Math Take-Home Test
For Tuesday: Math Test
For Wednesday: 7-10 Page Paper Final Draft (Again, the same one)
And there's a Physics Quiz in there somewhere...

Anyway, I'm not sleeping for a WHILE. So join the up late party! Meh. Oh btw, I know it's now 2005, but I decided this BEFORE the new year: I added another song to my 2004 Mix: Underdog by Audio Adrenaline. You've never heard of them because they're a Christian Rock group, and had I not strangely come across it as I had 2 1/2 years ago, I wouldn't have heard of the either, so don't feel bad. It's a good song and doesn't talk about Jesus (*phew*). Oh, and I know I didn't do Ah & Will over Winter Break... *shrug*. I wasn't in the mood. The whole point of Ah & Will was to deviate from work, and there was none to be done. So... I guess I'll do it sometime nowish. Like, before March Break. I gotta go do all that work. Shit. Peace.

Alex's 2004 Mix
12.28.04 (1:06 am)   [edit]
Well, it's almost New Years. You know, most people always say things like "the year felt so fast" or "the year felt so slow". Well fuck all'a ya. I think that this year felt like a year. Sure, I remember things from last year's New Year's like it was yesterday, but a year's worth'a shit's happened. So stop bitching / kveching, depending on your ethnicity. I can do both! :-P Power to mixed ethnic groups / oximorons (Waspy Jew). Honestly. Okay, so about 2 months ago I had a bunch of audio files for songs, but had nowhere to put them, so I figured what the hell, I'll make a mix. Well, since people name things by year, because any mix labelled "Alex's Kick Ass Mix" or "Alex's Really Really Awesomely Good / White-Boy Mix" is just HORRIBLE. By default. I know, because my brother did that and the music died with the naming of the CD. So, reasonably, seeing that it was October or what-have-you, I labelled it Alex's 2004 Mix. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I realized that I had to get my ASS MOVIN' if I wanted to get it done before 2004 ENDED. So, I did. 13 tracks of awesomeness / hilariousity. Enjoy the tracklist, and IM me if you want an audio file (overworkedirish).

1. Seinfeld Bass Theme - Les Claypool
2. Hanukkah Hey Ya! - Eric Schwartz
3. Magic - Ben Folds Five
4. Milk & Cereal - G. Love & Special Sauce
5. Rockin' The Suburbs - Ben Folds
6. The Scientist - Coldplay
7. Light The Menorah - Asher Sarlin & Teddy Chestnut
8. Twin Falls [Live] - Ben Folds Five
9. Where Is My Mind? - Pixies
10. Brick - UPenn's Off The Beat
11. Hey Sandy [The Adventures Of Pete & Pete Theme Song] - Polaris
12. Woke Up This Morning [The Sopranos Theme Song] - Alabama 3
13. Christmas In East Haven - KC101

A few notes - The order of the songs is intentional. I spent like a half hour making sure transitions were smooth. Also, you won't understand the song "Christmas In East Haven" unless you're from Connecticut, so don't try if you're not. The song Brick is actually a Ben Folds Five song (yes, I do love them), but this is an a capella recording with UPenn's Off The Beat. The chorus is orgasmic even if the soloist isn't the best.

Vacation
12.17.04 (2:30 pm)   [edit]
I'm really proud of myself for making that "Vacationful... *Imminent Baskage*" smiley on my profile. I love making my own smileys. Anyway, it is vacation. I'm tired, I have a drum lesson to go to now. But. Yea. Okay. Either way, I'm a bit disappointed, nay, I am bewoed! (is that a word?) that no one responded to my post about CaraMarie DeYoung. Also, the answer is yes. Season 3 of Ah & Will will be released throughout these next two weeks. Seaten your fastbelts, kids. We're goin' for a wild ride. Wee. Tired... Drum lesson... *Kerplunk*...
